Customer Instructions:
Required tools: A laptop computer and an ethernet cable.
Note: To find satellite, the modem will also need updated to our current RX frequencies on Echostar 105. Refer to "Updating RX Frequencies on ODN Gen 2 Modem"
Please notify ODN when you are bringing your system online for the first time on the new satellite, Echostar 105 so that we can make sure that your site has been properly transferred.
· Make sure your computer’s WiFi feature is turned off.
· If your system has an easily accessible ethernet switch installed that expands the number of ethernet ports from the modem, you may plug into that. Figure 1 Your computer should automatically pick up an IP address that is in the same IP range as the antenna controller.
Figure 1 Figure 2
Alternately, if there is no ethernet switch to easily plug into, connect the ethernet cable from your laptop into the network port on the rear of the ODN modem that is NOT connected to the iNetvu antenna controller. See figure 2 This will likely require disconnecting one of the existing ethernet cables)
· After cable connection: Verify your computers IP address-
Go to your command prompt. (You can find the command prompt in Windows by going to the Windows search box and typing “command” or “cmd”.)
From the command prompt type “ipconfig” and ENTER see figure 3
Figure 3
This should return a list that includes your “Default Gateway”. The default gateway should be a number like “………10.100.XX.1” see figure 4. If your computer can see the Default Gateway, this confirms that it is on the right IP address to see both the modem & antenna controller.
Figure 4
Use a browser such as Chrome to browse to Nd open the interface pages of both the ODN iNetVu modem and controller.
The ODN modem interface page can be viewed at 10.100.xx.1
Update parameters in modem:
Updating modem RX frequency- From the left side of the Overview page select “Profiles”. From the Profiles page select “Star Station”. Then select “TDM/SCPC RX”. Under Demodulator 1, enter the latest Frequency and SymRate values (circled in red) shown in the screen shot below. After changing both numbers, click “Apply” near the bottom the page and then “Save Config” that will have turned yellow in the upper left area of the page.
As of April 1, 2023 Frequency is 12021570and SymRate is 5000
COTM / AMIP settings- Browse to Advanced > Network > COTM AMIP. Refer to the screenshot and make sure proper settings are entered for AMIP communication with antenna controller.
Update/check parameters in iNetVu antenna controller:
The iNetVu antenna controller interface page can be viewed at 10.100.xx.16 (Same IP as modem with a .16 suffix instead of .1)
The login password to the iNetVu controller page is “password”
Logging in should take you to the “iNetVu Configuration” page.
Check or change the values circled in red on the screenshot provided below.
Use the SEND ALL button in the lower right corner to save the changes. Note: some units do not like to change too many values at once. If some old values return after the page refreshes, try changing and saving one box at a time.
The system should be ready to find the new satellite after all the parameters are saved. Press the FIND SAT button on the right face of the C-Com iNetVu antenna controller.
