Site Access and Security Protocols

Before entering the grounds of a secured tower site or any other customer site, always contact the appropriate network or facility operator to notify them of your arrival and purpose. Have the customer’s site ID number, location’s common name, or the street address ready for the operator so they can find the site in their system. You will likely be asked to provide your name, the company you work for, your purpose for the visit and an estimate of the time you will spend on-site. They may then issue an incident number that can be referred to when the visit is complete.

At the completion of the task, clean up your job site, close and lock the equipment shelter and the fence or entry gate. Call the appropriate network operator and notify them that the task is complete, and the site is secure. Refer to the incident number if it was issued at the beginning of the visit. The operator would then check the site for remote alarms such as open doors, etc. This is to insure than the equipment shelter is secure, and that no functionality was damaged during the visit. When they verify the site is secure and functional, they will close the incident.
