To access a the on-board signal strength meter in the satellite modem:
· With a laptop computer, connect an ethernet cable to one of the satellite modem’s LAN ports or the modem’s LAN switch.
· Make sure the laptop WiFi is turned off.
· Set your computer’s ethernet IP address to 192.168.222.223 – subnet mask 255.255.255.0
· Open a browser such as Chrome, and browse to the default local IP address of the modem, 192.168.222.222 This should open the Overview page of the modem.
On the left side of the page there is a Maintenance folder. Open the Maintenance folder and select Pointing. This will take you to a page that displays the current signal strength.
With no signal, there will be a yellow RF level bar, but no green C/N bar.
When the ODN signal is seen on the RX input, a green bar will appear under the SCPC C/N as shown.
Adjust the antenna position for the maximum C/N level.
Note: It is possible to get an indication on the yellow SCPC RF level bar from other satellites. If it indicates a high signal strength with no green C/N bar present, you are likely pointed at the wrong satellite.
